We are highly skilled professionals who decided not follow their architectural and engineering studies down the traditional path to a large architectural firm but opted instead to run our own much smaller architectural services company with a view to offering affordable architectural services to the uk homeowners.

Our business model is geared towards assisting people in smaller town hall planning matters like domestic extensions, conservatories and loft conversions rather than foretaking in the larger commercial projects like many of our peers.

All plans and drawings produced by us are produced by a fully qualified architectural design engineer with almost 20 years experience in the UK Construction and engineering sector.

Over the years we have developed an excellent working relationship with many  of the town hall Planning and building Control departments that are spread throughout the UK

When you combine this with our comprehensive knowledge of the planning and building regulatory procedures you soon get an idea of the safe hands that you will be placing your planning application in.

Not only will a good set of plans allow the town hall to make an informed a well judged decision about your application, they will also allow builders and tradespeople to give you more accurate quotations.

If you can spare a few moments to look at some of our previous example plans they will tell you all you need to know about the high exacting standards we put upon ourselves - you will also  see that our plans are drawn to a very high detail and standard.

Since our inception we have continued to re-invest into our business model and we have been fortunate along the way to build strong links with local builders and tradespeople who keep us busy all year round.

Our services are not restricted to builders, property developers and professional tradespeople however - We also produce plans and drawings direct to the homeowner.

Until recently any work we would of carried out on behalf of the homeowner  would of been generated purely through recommendation and word of mouth. 

This has meant we have had very little need for advertising our services and we speculate that the reason we always remain busy is due to our honest and reliable work ethic together with our friendly and courteous customer service. 

KJM Design do not own fancy offices with solid oak floors and air conditioning and you wont see us driving flashy sports cars.  Furthermore we do not possess endless advertising budgets.

What we do have in abundance though is pride in what we do, very high and excating standards, and an unrivaled knowledge of the planning and building regulatory control systems we have in the UK.

You wont find KJM Design getting involved in large retail projects or commercial developments - these projects put huge strains onto the resources of architectural firms, not to mention the equally large commercial liability insurance premiums they have to pay out anually to be considered for such prestigious work.

These companies may look towards residential planning work as a revenue stream to tie them over until the next commercial project comes along,   Others may look at this type of a work as a hindrence and charge a premium for their services.  

At KJM we have always set our fees at a rate designed to keep a regular stream of work coming in all year round.  I has always been our opinion that if you offer a great service at a great price then your customers will find you.

Before choosing who you are going to employ to produce your plans for you, just ask yourself the following question.

Do you want to pay for

a)  a set of plans for your extension as well as paying for  someone elses commercial insurance premiums, their glass fronted offices with solid oak floors and air conditioning, and for their their flashy red sports car?
